University of Manchester – Collegiate A Cappella Group
ABOUT US
The Skylarks are the University of Manchester’s leading competitive a cappella group, uniting talented singers from diverse backgrounds to create music solely with the human voice.
We perform a diverse repertoire, featuring powerful harmonies, vocal percussion, and innovative contemporary arrangements that highlight the creativity and versatility of modern a cappella. United by our passion for music and collaboration, we aim to deliver engaging and memorable experiences for every audience.
Since our formation, The Skylarks have rapidly become one of the UK’s emerging collegiate a cappella ensembles. In 2026, we earned 2nd Place at the ICCA UK Quarterfinals in Birmingham and advanced to the ICCA UK Semifinals, where our vocal percussionist, Liam Ting, received the Outstanding Vocal Percussion Award. Reaching the semifinals in our third year was a significant milestone for the group.
Beyond competitions, The Skylarks have been featured in Netflix’s Runaway, released our debut single Wings, and received an invitation to perform internationally at CroAppella in Zadar, Croatia. We have also performed at various cultural, charity, and university events, including the University of Manchester Students’ Union Awards, the Indonesian Cultural Festival, and community events across Greater Manchester.
Whether on stage, in the studio, or representing the University of Manchester at national and international events, The Skylarks remain committed to musical excellence, inclusivity, and the joy of making music together.
This is only the beginning. We look forward to sharing many more performances, projects, and achievements in the years ahead.
